Exorbitant fees for complimentary services that you can't opt out of

I have to say as someone who has been with FNB for many years, I am starting to reach the point where I am reconsidering my bank and looking at other options. Last month there went some debit orders off my account and I forgot to transfer money from my other account to this account my account went into areas as FNB has a default feature where they will cover this for you and you can rectify this. Which I thought was great until I saw on the statement that I was charged R580 for 4 debit orders covered and another R1205 for 7 debit orders covered, even though only 4 debits went off my account. It is ridiculous to be charged R1785 for a complimentary service when you are already paying so much in monthly service fees.
