#Excess Item Fee
Hey there,
I've got a bone to pick with FNB, and it's about their sneaky #Excess Item fee. Seriously, this fee is like their little money-making ninja – way more profitable than your regular bank charges.
Here's the lowdown: FNB plays this game where they delay showing your card swipes on your account and mess with transaction dates on your statement. Then, out of the blue, they bring back those delayed swipes on a day when your account balance is taking a nap. Why? So they can slap you with this shady #Excess Item fee.
Let me break it down. Say you had a grand in your account on the 20th. You do a few swipes, totaling R500 from the 20th to the 21st. You get SMS notifications saying your balance is now R500. All good, right? Wrong.
Fast forward to the 23rd. FNB drops in your regular monthly bank charges, let's say R800. Sneakily, they shuffle the dates of your R500 swipes to the 27th, claiming you had zero funds when you made those purchases. Bam! You're hit with a ridiculous #Excess Item fee of R5000.
But here's the kicker: if they followed the right order, deducting the R500 swipes before bank charges, you'd owe them a measly R300. Instead, they switch dates, delay payments, and make you believe you owe them a fortune.
I tried talking to this FNB guy named "Louw Jacques" over email. Useless. He couldn't explain why my transaction dates got a seven-day makeover. I've got invoices and SMS proof, but they still pull this stunt to cash in on those #Excess Item fees.
My advice to fellow FNB folks: Keep an eagle eye on those transaction dates, especially when your balance is playing hide and seek. These *****ulent charges pop up when you least expect it.
Spread the word, check your dates, and let's not let FNB pull a fast one on us with their #Excess Item fee nonsense.
