Excess fees incorrectly charged

I was charged excess fees on 4 November for purchases made against my debit card on October 30th and 31st. When making these transactions, there was more than enough in my account. On the 1 November, a debit order owing on my account was paid for by FNB despite my account having insufficient funds. Usually, FNB would decline and charge for insufficient funds. They decided to honour the debit order and charge me R155.00. Of course, they reversed it much later. However, this action by FNB left me with a huge deficit and this is when they deferred all my debit card purchases to go off after they withheld some funds towards the debit order.

I got charged R310.00 and R205.00 for excess fees when FNB held onto my monies with this sneaky transaction.

It seems like the system is set up to defer pos payments after there is a deficit on the account.

Totally disgusted!
