Email Recieved Hoax or not

Today I contacted my message system on my cell and for some reason I was logged off, so I logged on to my internet banking to speak to a consultant.

I told first consultant that I got an email saying my account is going to be deactivated is it true or is it someone trying to get my login details. They asked for a screenshot, and I was busy doing it after 4 mins I got a message on the secure chat stating that I did not respond, but I did I said one sec then sent the screenshot then the message about not responding came through.

Then I tried again got through to the same consultant they said they're transferring me to digital consultant. They had a look and said they're transferring me to accounts.

Once I got to account the consultant Given says I can't help you because your device is not verified, but I log on to my FNB online banking via this pc all the time and usually when that happens the consultant asks me to verify via my FNB app on my cell phone.

He asked me for the screenshot of the SMS. Clear sign he was not reading because I did mention it was an email not SMS. Then I could not get the screenshot to upload, so I asked him to scroll up to check chat history like the previous consultant did. Proceeded to tell me to contact accounts via telephone. I then told him this was ridiculous. He proceeded to say he did advise me that the device I'm using is not verified and that the other consultants did also advise me. Ok now from not reading properly about my issue as I did say email not SMS. Now he is lying again he is the only one who said to me my device was not verified and when i asked how because all my devices are verified he ignored my question.

This is ridiculous. Firstly normally to verify it's me I get asked to verify on my cellphone app 2. I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO GET MY LOGIN DETAILS I DON'T NEED INFO ABOUT MY ACCOUNT I CAN SEE EVERYTHING.

Seriously, I just wanted to know if the email was a hoax. I'm guessing it is as FNB is not able to tell me or help me in this regard.

I used to love the fact that FNB stood by its motto how can we help you. well guess that doesn't apply any more because I got pushed from pillar to post, with no resolution to whether or not the email not SMS is a hoax.
