eBucks : makro vouchers (...and other eroding eBucks benefits)

This email serves to express my extreme disappointed with FNB’s decision to remove the discount from makro vouchers (even if it is for a short while, and even if it will come back on discount later for a limited time).

The heart of eBucks is the rewards we get… it IS a Rewards programme, after all … and if the rewards keep getting diminished, eBucks will simply be a shell with no substance.

You and your actuaries may believe yourselves to be very smart in how tweak a little here and there to give us the perception that you’re just making changes and not eroding the rewards, but we know the truth.

We know.

So yes … today it’s makro vouchers without discounts, tomorrow it will be a lower percentage on credit card swipes, and the day after it will be a pointless exercise to jump through all your silly hoops (I know I do it, and you know you make me do it) to get those diminishing rewards.

Let me summarise it with a simple warning…

You better tread carefully: We know what you’re doing and, luckily for us, other Reward programmes are learning from you quickly and giving us real alternatives.

I’m watching you,

Hamza

(Dear Call Center person reading this… kindly forward this to your superiors so that it gets to a person who actually deals with the creation and control of when and how the eBucks discounts get formulated and app****. If you don’t, there’s nothing I can do. But I will be posting this on HelloPeter to get more exposure, and trying to find any email addresses for senior FNB/eBucks personnel to send this to. Please do what you can from your side in the interest of all eBucks clients)

Wow... I wonder if you even read my message at all! Neither my account number or ID would make any difference whatsoever to the concerns I have highlighted. It's the whole idea of eroding benefits over time on eBucks. There's no "department to investigate this further" like some account query, this is a comment on the principles of eBucks. I should have known my message woukld just end up getting a "copy and paste" reply. Cos that's exactly waht happened. What a shame.
