Easy to open an account, hard to close one.

I had been under debt review for many years and since April, I have been clear. Unfortunately I have also been trying to close my existing FNB account since it costs R250 a month but is not being used. I have been to a branch, called a call centre, chatted, emailed... at one point i even got transferred to FNB Connect :D :D :D... I just want to close an account I do not use...
