E-Bucks was such a let down -

I am so disappointed in e-bucks and the after sales service I received from the e-bucks shop.

I am so disappointed - I heard so much much about e-bucks and how great they are, so even though my e-bucks wasn't working on my card, although I had written and gotten some odd answer back. I decided to have a look in the e-bucks shop to see what they had. I found something (this was on the 12th September 2020), my son's birthday was coming up (01/10) - (he is a chef on lockdown), so I thought it might be something he could use while at home. It was a Black & Decker Food Processor. I placed the order and paid cash. (the item showed as being in stock), the delivery date was (16/09) - it didn't arrive.

On the 18/09 I called the e-bucks store ***) the person I spoke to said it would be arrive before 24th. I received instead an sms on the 18/09 telling me they were out of stock and would be expecting more on. (no date), The same day that I called. (so where did it go, was it removed from dispatch? given to someone else), or they just didn't have it).

The sms was incomplete it said they were out of stock and that they expect new stock (?) no date. So I waited for someone to tell me when. The birthday came and went - nothing no further correspondence. So I called on the 05th October, to be told that they were expecting stock on the 18/10. (why couldn't any one tell me - call me). I said fine. it was a gift and it was paid for.

So the 18/10 came - nothing - I was expecting delivery soon - sometime last week. on 22/10 I received a phone call from someone from (FNB Sales) e-bucks advising me that the stock was only expected at the end of November now.

I am so disappointed, I had great expectations of the greatness I was told - I normally have really good dealings with First National Bank.

But e-bucks is letting them down or at least the store is. So the e-bucks store, sells things that they don't have in stock (so you purchase a photograph of an item), they lie about the delivery date, lie when you call the call centre, then send you half an sms telling you that they don't have the item in stock, but they are expecting stock ? (no date), so leave you hanging.

You have to call in order to be told a specific date when stock is coming in. Only to have someone call you to tell you that it didn't come in - it is expected at the end of November. It's unfair to sell something they don't have in hope that they will have it soon. Selling goodwill they are not entitled to. No follow-up, no current sales service. You have to chase them.

(and so during the call - I was actually thinking that I will get a call at the end of November , with them stringing me another lie, telling me that they are only expecting them next year Tuesday).

So I cancelled the order - and asked for a refund. (which will come back into my account sometime maybe - its not there yet, but will wait and see for next week!).

I won't use the e-bucks store again, and right now it doesn't matter if they don't upgrade my card so I can get e-bucks. Because I would be scared to use them in the stores or elsewhere incase they say sorry madam they aren't valid or tell me I can't use them now, try again next week or next month or next year.

I paid R1037 for the item. (its not a lot). but it was a gift ordered while on lockdown. I thought it would be nice.
