Duplicate Home Loan Debit Not Reversed – 12 Days and Counting
I am extremely frustrated with the lack of resolution from FNB regarding a duplicate home loan payment.
On 30th Aug, a manual payment of R16,400 was made on my home loan, but a debit order was also processed — meaning over R32,000 was taken in the same month. I immediately submitted a reversal request. • My initial form was rejected only because the signature was done using PDF signing. • I resubmitted the form with a full pen-signed version over a week ago (12 days since my original submission). • Despite this, I have had no refund, no clear timeline, and no meaningful escalation from FNB.
This delay is causing severe financial strain. My car insurance premium has not been paid as a result, and I am unable to meet other debt commitments.
I request urgent action from FNB senior management to: 1. Process the refund based on my original submission date, not restart the timeline. 2. Provide a clear and written timeline for the refund. 3. Ensure accountability for this unacceptable delay.
I have banked with FNB for years, and this experience has left me deeply concerned. I urgently ask for this to be treated as a priority.
