Double Transaction Dispute Still Not Resolve
I went camping on Friday 10 November where the resort double charged me (R1059.13 twice) as the POS machine ran out of paper. I didn't realise at the time as my cellphone had no signal. On Monday 13 November I filed a dispute form to reverse the transaction along with the slip etc. I received a reference number REF: ********** 3_ ********** 66 but received no further communication from anyone at FNB.
A couple of days later, when I checked my account the second transaction had been removed and my balance had been corrected. Still no communication from FNB but I thought it was resolved.
Then on 21 November I got an SMS saying R1059.13 has been debited from my account, my account is now overdrawn. I got charged an additional R110.00 No Funds fee as well. Again no communication was received other than these SMS notifications.
I called FNBs dispute line and after around an hour on the phone the guy told me that the resort must have charged me again, complete ******* as they don't have my card on file and the transaction description still referenced the 10 Nov. I called the resort anyway and after a week of back and forth with their finance department, they confirmed that the 2nd transaction had been cancelled on their side and they only had my original payment on their bank statements. They therefore refused to refund me, rightly so.
I then went to FNB Bedford Center on Friday 1 December twice only to be told that they were offline. I then went back today, Monday 4 December at 11 and waited in line until 12 without being helped, I had to leave to go to a meeting. I then went back at 4 and after spending an hour with the consultant and on the phone to some or other department (including about 40 minutes on hold), I was told that there's nothing she can do, she has emailed a follow up to the guy who processed the dispute and I must wait another 5 days for feedback.
This is clearly an FNB transaction problem, they cancelled the transaction on the resorts side and for some unknown reason, reversed the transaction on my side and then put it back on again at a later stage. I must now be expected to wait another 5 days for feedback on an issue which should have been resolved 3 weeks ago! Is it fair to expect a customer to wait 26 days to have a transaction rectified? And charge me R110.00 no funds fee on top of it when it was FNBs mess in the first place.
Clearly the priority is put on signing up new customers with no regard for the current ones. And this is supposed to me Premier Banking. I'm sorry but Premier Banking does not take 26 days to process, that is a joke!
If this problem is not rectified with "Premier Banking" urgency then I'm going to move my "Premier" Cheque, Credit and Savings accounts as well as my Vehicle Finance and Home Finance to another bank, FNB clearly doesn't appreciate their customers.
