DONT USE FNB FIDUCIARY SERVICES!!! THEY ARE USELESS

<div>My mother passed away on 18 December 2020.

Unfortunately she had left her will and appointed FNB Fiduciary Services as her Executor of her Estate.

Her Estate was extremely simple, and only comprised 4 Bank accounts. 2 At ABSA, a Std Bank Credit Card account which was in Credit, and an Investment at Stanlib.

All details of her Estate were sent to FNB Fiduciary on 8 January 2021.

Firstly, to get hold of FNB Fiduciary is impossible. Any phone number on their website is never answered. On 3 occasions in the last 15 months I have had to enlist the help from my Company's Business Banker to find any living soul to contact at FNB Fiduciary.

This has been a mess ever since.

The original employee at FNB Left their employ about 4 months after receiving all the info relating to the estate. There was no succession planning by FNB and nothing was done. After many futile attempts I at last found someone to escalate this matter to and found out that by October 2021, nothing had been done to request the funds from Stanlib. It was on my intervention with Stanlib that they had not even been notified of my Mother's death 10 months after the fact!!!

Numerous other hiccups have occurred in the 15 months since my Mother's passing.

Finally in March 2022 I received the draft L&D account from FNB. This showed that of the 4 bank accounts my Mom had, FNB Fiduciary had not even notified STD Bank of my Mothers death, and had also not claimed on her funeral policy , when claim forms were submitted to FNB on 8 January 2021!!!!

This is a small Estate with only about R550 000 assets, so obviously FNB doesn't care too much.

They are however still claiming R25 000 in fees for doing nothing!!!

This has been reported to the Regional Director, Mr Sipho Mahungela, the Head of Finance at FNB, the Executor of the Estate Ms Natasja Roodt, and the shocking service still continues.. The number of emails regarding this mess are unbelievable, but nobody accepts responsibility.

FNB Fiduciary is absolutely USELESS. Imagine if my Mother had had a Share portfolio and fixed property, it would take 10 years to finalise the Estate!!!

So after 15 moths, nothing has happened to finalise an Estate with 4 simple bank accounts that needed to be closed!!!
