Don’t take FNB debt-protection. **** to ***** your money.

When they sell you the Top-up debt protection, it might sound convincing and useful. However, it’s a ploy for FNB to ***** your money.

So, I have subscribed for a long time to this because I thought; rainy days - it would be useful. I now see they have been taking my money for nothing.

Now that I have paid up my credit card. They said it won’t charge me on positive balance, great. It has not been charging me since my credit card balance has been positive.

Fast forward to 05.08.2020, I make a payment of 73k using the credit card. I then move the money from my savings account to the credit card; same day. 06.08.2020, I see a transaction of R306 for debt protection. What debt, I ask myself? All transactions were same day. So, it offset each other. I don’t believe I should have been charged. We can’t be suffering from a pandemic and a bank ******** us.

My complaint: I want my money back. This is a matter of principle. I’m willing to fight tooth and nail.
