Don’t buy smart devices through FNB
I purchased a laptop for my 13 year old daughter in March. I received the device on the 18th March. The device was faulty as the screen was glitching as you moved it and I phoned and emailed them the next day to cancel the purchase. The device was repacked and sent back to FNB who waited a week before collecting it. At the time of repacking the screen was not working at all. I was then told that the device had been scratched and I had to pay a cancellation fee of over R4000. I asked them if there was anything wrong with the screen and have been told that the screen works perfectly. There is something very strange about this. I am within my rights to cancel within 7 working days - this is the consumer protection act and is in their contract. I have been paying the monthly installment every month but still have not heard from FNB who are still in possession of the device. I think I am being led up the garden path with this one. I have been a client for almost 30 years and can honestly say that something is very wrong here.
