Don't migrate your cell phone to FNB

If you are planning to migrate your cell phone account to FNB, DON'T!!!!! After enquiring about the migration from MTN to FNB, we set the whole process in motion. The new FNB sim card was acquired with the assurance that one would maintain the cell phone number. The FNB sim card was inserted into the phone with the expectation that it would be activated within 24 hours. MTN was informed about the migration. The MTN contract was converted to 'pay as you go' until the contract expired, then the disaster started. The FNB sim had a new cell number starting with 061. We had to go back to the Olympus branch of FNB to try and sort this problem out. The poor attendant at the branch tried for 13 minutes to get the call centre to answer her call. After 13 minutes some anonymous voice answered but had no idea how to solve the problem She gave up and redialled, had to wait another 16 minutes for someone to answer. After talking to another anonymous voice, the only solution was to cancel the new contract with FNB and to reinstate the previous contract with MTN. It is obvious that FNB should stick to banking and leave the cell phone business to the professionals.
