DO NOT TRUST YOUR TITLE DEEDS IN THE HANDs OF FNB HOMELOANS

After many years as a FNB Home loan client with many past dealings with FNB Homeloans I never thought the time will come that my trust in them is down the drain. When my wife retired end of last year we decided to settle our bond and requested them to proceed with the cancelation of our bond. We received an email from FNB confirming that the appointed attorney who will handle the cancelation will contact us which they did. We've been informed by the attorney that they waiting for FNB to send them the Title Deed of our property to enable them to proceed with the cancellation. After a long waiting time I query about the process and the attorney informed me that they still waiting for FNB and will escalate it. On 5 March 2020 the attorney informed me that FNB cannot find our title deed and they lost it. The most important document in any persons life is gone due to FNB's negligence. Since the 5th FNB did not even bother to reply to my emails regarding the fact that this delay creates unnecessary service admin fees that they still deduct from my account because the bond is still open. The procedure now is for them to apply for a copy at the title deeds office and then it must be certified as the original and advertised in the gov. Gazette and then only it can be accepted as the original. A procedure that delay every thing. So to all out there who is in the process of selling your property make sure your title deed is safe and those who still keep your bond accounts open the same to you. If this can happen to me then the question is how many FNB home owners sit with the same problem. FNB external email ref ***
