DO NOT switch to PRIVATE BANK with FNB!

I am a private banker with FNB, and since I joined, I have been extremely disappointed with the lack of benefits. The service promises convenience, including having a dedicated banker to make life easier, skipping the call centre, avoiding bank queues, and paying over R450 per month for these conveniences.

However, the reality is quite different. Despite the promises, I still find myself having to deal with all those inconveniences. I am deeply frustrated with having to beg for service. My supposed benefits, such as the global account, have been nothing but a hassle. My banker doesn't read emails, repeatedly asks for account numbers already provided in previous communications, and mistakenly claims I have pounds in my account when I actually have dollars.

The level of service is shockingly low. After numerous emails begging for assistance with forex, information on slow lounges, and access for my children who also bank with FNB, I have only received below-average feedback. Despite expressing my unhappiness and giving ample opportunities for improvement, I still receive generic responses. There is no urgency or willingness to help.

This past weekend, on Saturday, I experienced an even more frustrating situation. My credit card was declined multiple times, even though had enough money for the transaction, so I tried using my cheque account, which also declined several times before finally going through on my business account. I attempted to get hold of my private banker via call and chat, but guess what? Nothing! No assistance whatsoever. I ended up having to wait in line at the normal call centre, and eventually, I hung up out of sheer frustration.

I might as well downgrade and save myself the monthly fee since, apart from eBucks, there is no actual benefit to being a private banker with FNB. My attempts to get help from the call centre, especially with forex, resulted in being cut off and never receiving a call back. The service is absolutely appalling.

DO NOT switch to PRIVATE BANK with FNB!
