DO NOT INSURE WITH FNB!!!!
I have been insured with FNB since 2021. This is both for my car insurance as well as my home insurance. Since then, my experience with them has not been the most pleasant. First red flag was when I included my car insurance to the policy, my insurance premium for the car was increased and it was not even the anniversary of when I included my car insurance.
Then they increased my home building insurance excess from R1000 to R3000 out of the blue because I had more than 3 claims for the building. In the next year my insurance premium for my building insurance increased by more than 30%.
I moved to another insurance because their premium for both my car, my husbands car and out building insurance was half of what I was paying at FNB. This insurance is effective 1st of April. We then decided to cancel our insurance with FNB. We are however still covered for the month of March. Unfortunately I got into an accident last week and now that I want to claim I am getting a hassle. I have to jump over a million hoops. They are asking me to submit: 1. My bank statement. For what reason? I’ve been insured since 2016 and never in my life have I been asked for this when claiming. I’ve been with Miway, OUTsurance, Eskom insurance, first for women. I don’t understand why you want my statement 2. They want me to submit a history of trips from my tracker - Again, why??? I’ve never had to submit this 3. I have to submit a previous history of insurance report - Again, why?
I’ve had such terrible customer service while with them and even in my last days with them, I am super sad I have to deal with them and have to claim because what is this??? Would not recommend at all
