Do not care about their clients - No even worth the 1 star I had to give
I am at the moment a very unhappy client of FNB - and probably not the only one. On the 11th of January I paid my credit card, revolving loan, 2 personal loans and 2 smart devices in full after telephonically obtaining a settlement balance. On the 12th of January I went onto the secure chat to have all my accounts closed as there was still some accounts including my credit card and 2 personal loans reflecting as open. I spoke with a consultant by the name of Tracey-Lee who asked that I verify my device via the APP. She advised that my credit card will be closed after I verify my device via the app. as the secure chat was extremely slow andI kept being disconnected I let her know that I will call the back as the chat is delayed and trying to do business like that is ridiculous. I then proceeded to call the bank to ask that all the accounts be closed as they are now paid in full. and I wanted to have my account downgraded as the FNB fees are terribly high. On the 17th I checked my account and found that nothing had still been done and I lodged a complaint via the website - got a response saying that I will receive a call in the next 48 hours - this never happend (great customer service) it has now been 8 working days (not including the saturdays that the bank is open) and all the accounts that I requested to have closed are still open, and my account had never been down graded. I went back on the secure chat this afternoon to request for closure just to be told that the credit card cannot be closed due to outstanding fees that was raised on the account the day after I had paid. I spoke with Carol, who did not even apologise for the terrible service I have been receiving (so much for customer service). She just advised that per the notes on my account I have been notified of the outstanding fees on the account, and once that is paid I can close it - I told her that no-one ever called me and she kept insisting that I was notified and that an email had been sent - I have checked my email - an no nothing has been received! After she told me about the fees, and me telling her that I was never notified, she then very arrogantly asked if I sent a chat for you to provide me with a settlement - I told her that I called to get all the settlement amounts - and her response was: the settlement amount on the credit card account is R 224.24, in order for us to log through a request for closure on your credit card account - not bothering to see that I had just told her that I called to get the settlement amounts of all my accounts. I then asked when then asked when the fee was raised and was ignored - I then asked for a copy of the call where I was informed of this fee - as I did speak to the bank on the 12 and was never told of a fee - I was just told that they will log a call to have the open account closed. Carol then very plainly responded that an email was sent on the 12th - I double checked all my mails and not once was an email with a settlement amount sent - the only settlement amount I ever got was the one when I called the bank the first time to pay the account in full. I then again asked when the fee was raised and was again ignored and I for the second time informed her that I have no email from FNB on the 12th. She then copied the email into the chat, like that is actually going to make a difference if I did not receive it the first time as according to me that account had already been settled . I then again told her that I had checked my mails and no correspondence was ever sent to me and again asked when the fees were raised. She then confirmed that the fees were raised after I had already made a settlement payment on my account. then again instead of apologised for extremely bad customer service received through out the entire month of January - she just advised that she will now transfer me - What great customer service - don't feel like dealing with an upset client? lets transfer them to someone else so that they can explain everything all over again. I was transferred at 12h26 and it is now 13h00 - guess what I have still not been helped. All I am trying to do is get my credit record up and close dangerous accounts, but FNB is not allowing me to do this as they are refusing to close my accounts. There are still 2 personal loan accounts that show as open that have been paid in full and have a 0 balance - if there are any debit orders that go off my account for those loans that have been paid in full you can be sure that the ombud will hear from me! As I do feel that FNB also over indebted me in the first place. Then there is also the fact that you pull fees on the 21st of the month when I only get paid on the 25th of the month?? and then want to send me a obnoxious sms saying my account is overdrawn? Please change payment dates to the 25th of each month as this what I told you my salary date is 10 years ago when I opened this stupid account, which I now really regret doing. I will also be positing this on Hello Peter as well as Facebook - since not even the complaints department can return a call - 48 hours after the 17th would have been a call made no later than the morning of the 20th.
