Dissapointed and Frsutrated

In March I experienced an unfortunate event resulting in a double charge while booking flights online. I immediately contacted FNB for assistance and was instructed how to proceed, which I duly did. As instructed, I requested a refund from the merchant which was done within about 10 days. I then contacted FNB again and was then told to wait up to another 10 days for the amount to reflect given it was an international transaction. I waited 10 days and still nothing so I called again. I was then told to request transaction numbers and details which I did. When I called FNB with the info I was then given another story. After two days of bouncing around different credit card and forex call centres I eventually managed to find someone to help me. On 12 May 2023 the charge was temporarily reversed while they would apparently investigate the charge further. On 3 July 2023, I noticed the charge had been debited on my credit card again. I have now once again disputed the amount and have been advised it will take 7 to 14 days to process, again. All the while I am being charged interest on this amount. I have provided every ounce of supporting info and evidence requested and yet FNB still cannot, or rather will not assist. I am supposedly a valued customer who has private banker and has a private client account status. All I can say is it is a load of *******. I have banked with FNB for more than 30 years, since I was kid. I have repaid countless loans and have financed numerous vehicles through Wesbank, which is part of FNB. I realise I am not a wealthy customer and have no doubt I do not even feature as anything more than a number on a balance sheet for FNB however you would think there would be some sort of lifetime value approach to customers. In any case, to anyone reading this, take this as a warning. You will be granted all sorts of status gimmicks and will be told you are important, until the day you actually need help. When that day comes, all your status and support over the years will be forgotten and you will spend your days bouncing around various call centres getting different messages and very little assistance.
