Dispute Over Debit

Good Day,

Today I see a debit on my account for R110.00 under the reference "PMT Honfee". I call your customer care and the buck gets passed. I'm transferred from one department to the next, and call center staff drop the call while I'm talking (twice). After repeated attempts and wasted time, I get through and then I'm told that that amount is for FNB honoring a payment because I had no money in my account. Firstly, my account was positive - so that's nonsense. And, secondly, this amount is ****************. How the hell can you charge R110.00 for "honoring" a payment? They did the same thing for a debit order that didn't go through. Bunch of gangsters.

Cheers,

Dear Nick-darlington ,

Thank you for the response.

The Payment Honouring fee has always been charged on accounts that go into excess; however it used to be called the “excess item fee”. Hence this is not an additional or new charge.
