Dishonest bank!
I have a serious problem with FNB. They are such ****** and they hide behind "thats the rule". A year ago I submitted a transaction dispute form for a transaction that had taken place at Hillbrow for an amount of R840 or some odds and I was told that i was the one that put the transaction through as my card was swiped. There was no way for me to prove that this wasn't me and my dispute was thrown out the window. On the 27th of November, I had R60000 deposited into my account and I withdrew R58000, right after this I had an available balance of R641. I then called into the call centre the day after that to query why this had happened because as far as I know, the fees all come off when my statement closes which is around the 20th on my account. The consultant I spoke to on that day then proceeded to explain that the reason I had that amount available and not R2000 (60000 - 58000) was due to cash handling fees for the withdrawal. So according to me I had been billed for this transaction which is okay. Then a few days ago, when my bank charges came off my account, I then noticed that I had again been billed these cash handling fees. I called this morning and spoke to Lavinia, who with an attitude told me that the balance of R2061 that was showing on the statement for that date was exactly what I had available. I told her that this was not accurate and I only had R641 which prompted me to call in the first place. Had I had R2061 in my account after the withdrawal there would've been no need for me to call in and query my available balance. I then had to prompt her to make someone listen to the previous call and provide me with feedback.
FNB is such a cruel and ***** of a bank. There are completely no ethics at this bank and its disturbing. Furthermore, I have a personal loan that I have a payment arrangement for and i pay R100 monthly. Seen as i missed Novembers payment they then decide to debit me R1000. I called in this morning and I'm told it was beause I missed November payment. Now if I missed one payment, how do they then justify practially billing me for 10 months ahead? They should've only taken R200 for Nov and December. The lady i spoke to said that she will only be able to refund me R500 and not R800 and I would like to find out why this is the case? If she keeps the R500 will they offset it for the next 3 months?
I honestly would like for this bank to stop exploiting consumers and start operating with Intergrity.
