Disgusting service
I sent a complaint to FNB care on the 25/3/2026 which listed the following: "Good morning I was incorrectly charged R115.00 on my account, for insufficient funds for the debit order of R2021.00 on the 16 March 2026. What confuses me is that I specifically paid this amount into my account on the 16th to cover the debit order which was meant to go off at midnight. I was surprised to see that the debit order was rejected and that my statement reflects that I had paid in this amount on the 17th. This doesn’t make sense. Also, there are numerous charges of R8.00 for declined foreign fees, mostly on the same day of which I am unaware of. Could you please assist me in resolving this matter?" No reply! I then noticed another 25 transactions of R8.00 on my account for 30/4/2026 Once again, I sent an email. "Good day I have had multiple charges of 8.00 on the 10th, 12th and 16th March as well as the 1 April 2026 for unpaid amounts that I am unaware of. Most are going off on the same day. I had to block my debit card. Can you please investigate these charges." I received the following email on the 20/4/26 "Upon reviewing your account, we identified several declined transactions due to insufficient available funds. Please contact the relevant service provider should you wish to cancel or query any subscriptions that may be registered in your name. A penalty fee of R8.00 is applicable for each declined transaction, in line with your account?s pricing structure. Additionally, some decline fees that occurred between 7 February 2026 and 10 March 2026 were billed at a later date. These fees remain valid and correctly app**** according to your pricing, and the outstanding amount were debited on 30 March 2026." This is unacceptable and sould anyone else be in the same boat, take it to the banking ombudsman. some of the charges were deducted while there were funds in the account. 36 charges of R8.00 totalling R288.00 MOSTLY ON THE SAME DAY for something I'm not even aware of.
