DISGUSTED AT TREATMENT OF LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR 50 YEARS

You would thing being a loyal customer of FNB since 1968 would mean something. Not a chance, How can we help you is a sham! Private banker. means nothing!!!! I feel I have been slapped in the face by FNB. My late husband and I have been loyal customers of FNB since 1968, and 2 of our children bank with FNB, we had our home loan and my husbands business acc with FNB as well. After having to reduce monthly payment from my RA due to poor performance of this RA, and as I have a huge house and wanted to make small interior alteration to divide it for a passive income, app**** for funds, declined as I do not earn enough! Ok, no help there! I then sold a high value vehicle to do this, and also to pay off credit cards. Standard Bank gave me 20% discount on the settlement of my credit card, and note I do not have any other bank acc with them at all. Approached my premier bankers to settle me credit cards and asking for a settlement discount, via several emails since mid June when I knew the funds from sale of vehicle would be in my acc, with ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE nor replies, even though I received 2 emails saying someone would contact me. So much for premier bankers! I tried calling at my expense, many times to speak to someone who could assist. I was told by several customer service consultants on the phone, No, FNB do not give settlment discounts. I then sent more emails to wealthcard, and fnb care email addresses, explaining my situation. I even went into the bank itself to ask for this, and was given a ref no, with a promise that someone would call me. All this long before my payment for end June on credit card was due, To my utter disgust and dissapointment I was handed over to collections instead, and credit card suspended. All without even a response to my many emails. To date, since mid June 2018 FNB has called me only once, today 11th July, re the outstanding non payment for end June. How is that for being a loyal customer for 50 years!!!! I have today settled the budget amount owing on my credit card, almost R40,000 without any settlement discount at all. I feel cheated and utterly disgusted at the CARE that FNB shows to loyal customers. Please believe me that I will be closing my FNB account, and as small as my monthly pension is, and take it elsewhere.
