Disgraceful service
On the 01-09-2023 I visited the FNB Cresta Mall branch with the intention of opening a business account for my business after a friend of mine recommended the FNB business account. My first point of interaction was with a consultant by the name of Duduzile whose enthusiasm level dropped drastically after telling her my business turnover(clearly a business has to generate five to six figures turnover for the owner to be taken seriously and treated with respect). Duduzile then concluded for me that the most suitable account for my business would be the "Zero business account" which I would have to receive a call from one of her colleagues to assist me open it telephonically without her taking time to take me through other business accounts and their features for me to decide on my own which product would be most suitable for my business and its needs. As she was interacting with me she was busy chatting on the handheld device she had and had to "jump into a virtual meeting". When I asked her about other business accounts she had zero patience to give me the information and directed me to the self-service PC for me to check out the other business accounts myself. Went to the self-service PC and did the application for the "Zero business account" and left the branch in disbelief at the poor service received to have breakfast in the mall. Then I received the much anticipated call from someone regarding the "Zero business account" which I was advised that I am automatically disqualified from opening it if my business is registered(of which it is). Duduzile and FNB as a whole had dismally failed me at this point. That's an hour of my time down the drain. I then take it upon myself to go to the website using my time and data to check out the other business accounts. I see the "Gold business account" which i think is the most suitable account for my business and its needs after scrutinizing the features and pricing. As I needed to have the account opened urgently I returned to the branch and asked to see the branch manager to express my dissatisfaction with the service levels earlier on during my initial visit, the branch manager offers an apology and deploys everthing with grace. I then finally managed to have the account opened after two and half hours from my initial visit. Nwabisa Maboza is assisting me to open the account, at this point the service had recovered until I received an sms that my card will be going to Fourways mall branch after I've requested for it to go to Northgate mall. I send Nwabisa an email upon receiving the sms to enquire about the delivery instruction on the card and she advises me that the Northgate branch is under renovation and therefore the card will be going to Fourways mall. Fourways mall is out of my way and I ask her to rather reroute the card to Bankcity as I'm based in Joburg CBD workwise. The response I'm receiving from her over the phone is that she's not able to reroute the card for me and I will have to go the Bankcity branch myself to request that they reroute my card to their branch from Fourways. At this point FNB does not have my best interest at heart as their client. It's so amazing that Nwabisa assumed that I have the time in my busy schedule to go to Bankcity to facilitate this process. According to her, she doesn't have any means to facilitate this process. It's shockingly unbelievable that a big organization like FNB has the expectation that their clients should go out of their way to get basic processes like rerouting a card from one branch to another done. It's only been four days with FNB and I'm already receiving such disgraceful service. Is this what FNB stands for? What about other clients who receive the same service levels and never voice their frustrations out? Get the attitude together! I need my card rerouted to Bankcity urgently or else I'm closing my account with you and make sure that FNB suffers more reputational damage, this is not a threat but a promise.
