Disappointment with FNB and the banking system

Hi I have a JV account with FNB that is little over a million for the past 10 months turning a year on end July. The JV has won a another contract with a value of R15m and wanted to borrow R1m to persue the new contract.

I went to see a relationship manager on Monday and left disappointed and dismayed after learning that the bank will not assist us even though it received part of the R540bn from the Reserve Bank intended to assist with lending to SMMEs to resasitate the economy including a further R200bn as garrantee from government for the same purpose.

My discovery is that FNB has not amended their systems to accommodate a new participation in the lending area for SMMEs in this state of the economy as their lending criteria is still the same even if government has committed to covering any loans that may go wary through the bank.

Now, where is the government money or commitment if we cannot be helped to start the economy after lockdown?
