Disappointing and unpleasant experience in opening an account with FNB
Opening a new account with FNB has been an experience from hell. Very little communication about how their options such as cell phone banking, on-line banking, e-bucks, daily withdrawal limit etc. works. I have had to go to the branch twice with little assistance. they keep referring you back to call the call centers which is OF NO USE! Yet, they inundate you with incessant SMS messages. An agent from cellphone banking called me on Friday to assist me with cellphone banking. I told her to call me back in 45 minutes as I was driving. I'm still waiting for her call, yet I get an SMS warning me that I have 24 hours to register for cellphone banking. YET one cannot register unless you have a bank card - which I received today only. After phoning the call centre twice to try and register, (as I get a message stating invalid MMI code) the first agent says I must reboot my phone and try again the second agent tells me that it takes 24 hours after I received my bank card before I can register. TThe experience with FNB thus far has been most unpleasant to say the least. Very limited meaningful communication but being bombarded with at least two SMS messages that offer are USELESS information. When will banks learn that one needs banking but NOT banks??
