Disappointed at the banking industry...

I am bitterly disappointed with the banking industry. I have app**** with , FNB bank for a home loan and have been disapproved cause of my credit score. I do understand that I would need a good credit score but in order for me to achieve this is now becoming impossible. I have an unbonded property which is on my name and I am willing to use it as collateral just to get a loan or home loan for less than half of wt my property's worth so I can free of old debit. As a working individual I am trying my utmost best to do what is right and pay up old debts not leave it unattended but it's now becoming impossible cause I am getting declined. I did speak to a consultant from Fnb who was very promising and was going to liase with his manager but up to date no response..Absolutely disappointing... why do FNB slogan states how can we help...when in all honesty it's just empty promises...
