07 Jun 2026, 09:58I would like to formally express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the service I have received from FNB regarding a *****ulent transaction on my account.
On 30 May 2026, an unauthorized amount of R750 was deducted from my account. Concerned about the transaction, I immediately visited the Randburg Square FNB branch to seek assistance and determine the nature of the deduction.
At the branch, I was advised to contact the ***** Department using the in-house telephone. During the call, I provided all the necessary information to the consultant assisting me. After reviewing my account, he informed me that the R750 had been deducted through my virtual card and that my virtual account had been compromised.
What is particularly alarming is that virtual cards are marketed as one of the safest banking features available. Yet somehow my virtual card was compromised without my knowledge or consent. No approval request was sent to me, no notification was received, and there was no opportunity for me to stop or decline the transaction. The funds simply disappeared from my account.
I immediately reported the matter and expected FNB to act swiftly to investigate and reimburse me for the unauthorized transaction. Instead, I have been met with silence. Since reporting the incident, I have received no meaningful update, no communication regarding the progress of the investigation, and most importantly, no reimbur*****t.
I am deeply dissatisfied with both the apparent security failure and the poor handling of my complaint. As a customer, I trusted FNB to protect my funds and to respond effectively when ***** occurs. Unfortunately, my experience has left me questioning whether that trust was misplaced.
How am I expected to continue banking with confidence when a supposedly secure virtual card can be compromised so easily, and when the bank appears unwilling or unable to provide timely feedback and resolution?
I genuinely believed FNB would do the right thing and prioritize resolving this matter. Instead, I am still waiting, with no answers, no reimbur*****t, and no indication that my concerns are being treated with the urgency they deserve.
To date, nothing meaningful has been communicated to me since my visit to the Randburg Square branch. Nothing has been done to restore my confidence in FNB, and nothing has been done to compensate me for the financial loss I have suffered.
I expect an urgent response, a clear explanation of how this incident occurred, and immediate feedback regarding the reimbur*****t of my funds.

07 Jun 2026, 10:20I received a message advising that my matter had been escalated to the Complaints Department and that I should allow 5 business days for a resolution.
However, I have already been waiting for more than 7 business days without any meaningful feedback or progress.
This is honestly unacceptable. The lack of urgency, communication, and accountability throughout this process has been extremely frustrating.
Had I not taken the initiative to escalate the matter on HelloPeter, when exactly was I going to receive assistance, or even the message that was only sent to me now? It is concerning that it appears external escalation was required before any action was taken.
As a customer, I should not have to chase updates or seek public platforms to receive attention on a matter that should have been handled promptly from the outset.
I expect an immediate update and a clear explanation for the delays experienced.
