Review: I am deeply disappointed by the treatment we received from FNB Hebron Mall regarding a special-needs child’s SASSA support funds. The bank blocked the child’s account and demanded that we bring the child in for verification. We comp**** and took the child to the branch, but even after that, the funds were still not released.

This child is extremely disabled and depends entirely on the SASSA grant for daily needs, together with his unemployed mother who cares for him full-time. Despite our explanations and requests for temporary access to the funds while the guardianship documents are being processed, the branch manager showed no sympathy or compassion. Instead, we were told to go from pillar to post to get guardianship papers before they could help us — leaving the child and his mother with no money for food, transport, or medical needs.

It is heartbreaking that a bank of this size cannot show basic humanity toward a disabled child in such a desperate situation. We are calling for higher authorities at FNB to urgently intervene and help release the child’s funds. If this issue continues, the mother is considering taking legal action for the violation of the child’s rights by ********ly holding his support funds hostage.

We hope FNB takes this matter seriously and acts with compassion to resolve it.
