Device Insurance no longer available

I purchased a device from FNB last year October and was not able to tae out insurance at that time. So i decided i am now ready to add my insurance to my device and find out that they no longer offer this on their devices, i was told to go to other service providers, which i did, just out of curiosity because logically its insane to ensure something that wasnt bought elsewhere.

Miway/Outsurance/Vodacom/Mtn/Edgars..all said the same thing, they either dont do device insurance as a stand alone or they dont cover the item thats not bought from them.

This is a big disadvantage and diservice that FNB has done to its clients, as the insurance option on the devices made things so easy.. Auto & General who does offer on the othe rhand insures to max of R8500, aprox 339p/m and an excess of 2550, i mean really. Same with 1st for women, max 8k.

So now i ask FNB...HOW CAN YOU HELP ME??

Hi Daffnie,

Thanks for your response. I received a call earlier today from a call centre agent, who hasnt assuaged any of my dissapointment. I got the same from RB Jakobs via FB, that FNB no longer provides sim and device insurance. cant say i can do much with that as like i said, im out of options.

I would jus like to thank FNB for really coming through and helping me. I have been liasing with the Insurance providers and am in the middle of finalising my is=nsurance. Thanks again for all your effort and assistance and ofcos for turning my frown upside down :-)

Just a note, i think you guys should consider bringing back device insurance as it is quiet important to have it especially if one is looking to get the newer smartphones..
