Delayed Processing of Transactions
I have a FNB account and a huge amount went off the account due to “delayed transactions” even though there was no money in the account (these transactions were from over 2 weeks ago and did not show anywhere on “pending” transactions on my account) (any reasonable person would have forgotten about them if they aren’t brought to your attention). This is an issue in itself and negligence on the banks behalf leading to emotional stress and trauma. Anyways. I immediately contact the bank to help me remedy the situation. The next day I got a #Item-paid-no-funds on my account and R8000 was further deducted from my account. 2 main issues come up. I do not have an overdraft facility, the transactions should have bounced and I should have been better informed of what was going on. 2) FNB admitted that the technical error was their fault and that all charges will be removed by them. They said it is a charge for honouring the payment. I lodged a complaint and got a call, the person at the call centre said in my pricing guide there is the fee. There isn't, in cheque accounts and easy accounts there is, in the FNBy account there is not, only a R8.50 charge. I'm a student that can't afford a bank to ***** from me and lie by saying it's in the pricing guide when it blatantly isn't. Also, I’m the banking code of ethics, any losses incurred to the client that is a result of bank error should be taken accountable by the bank and losses should not be suffered by the client. This includes TECHNICAL PROCESSING ERRORS.
