Delay in Debit Card Purchases
Good day, Hellopeter
I received my salary the 26 March 2021 and made some debit card purchases. And to my knowledge these purchases were paid. Two weeks later i receive a notification from FNB that these purchases were never paid as there was a delay in debit card purchases. Now i am sitting with a negative amount of over R2000 on my account.
I understand i made the purchases but why was i only notified 2 weekes later that these purchases were never paid when there was sufficient amount of money in my account. This is neglegence ofn FNB side and now I have to come up with R2000 in order to settle my account which was no fault on my behald i was not aware that there was a delaty in debit carrd purchases i was only notified 2 weeks later and now i have to cough up over R2000. Why did FNB not notify their clients immediately of this delay and now they added bank charges to their error.
Hellopeter please assist I am a single mother and only breadwinner and i feel i should not be responsible for the purchases that went unpaid as according to me at the time it was paid.
My details are as follows
Nicola Millward ID ***
Thanking u in advance.
Regards, Nicola

To my knowledge all my debit card purchases was approved and paid why notify me 2 weeks later that this was never the case now a collection agent has been put up to get the funds from me. Hellopeter please assist I use this account for my salary so when y salary gets paid this month R2000 will have gne off thsi is not right then what do i have left for living expenses me and my kids must now suffer because of their negligence, I rfuse to accept this.

Good day Ms Millward,
We acknowledge receipt of your complaint regarding the late processing of transactions dated 16 April 2021.
The transaction done on the 26 March 2021 at the time was reserved for purchase, meaning this transaction had not physically debited the account since. The transaction was recently banked dated 16 April 2021. Though we understand your concern, the transaction had to be banked and paid to the merchant for the services rendered at the time of purchase.
Unfortunately the bank cannot reject any transactions that is found to be valid as clients are still liable for the transaction/s.
Regards,

Good dayI find it strange that u make no mention of how the bank delayed debit card purchases for 2 weeks who's fault is this. Once again to my knowledge these purchases were approved look at the time frame. Purchases made the 26th March I only get notified the 16th April of this so why must I now be responsible for the banks negligence. I will put your response including mine on hello. Peter. Com and. See what the public think. I am no gna be a loser of over 2000 because of the banks negligence.
I am not happy with this response as this is no fault of mine for their negligence. I made purchases on the 26 March 2021 and FNB notified me the 16 April 2021 there is delay in debit card purchases when there was no longer funds in my account and now I am sitting in minus R2000 and they had the audecity to add R300 for bank charges.
