Declined for a revolving credit plan

I visited Fnb Montclair/Mobeni branch in Durban on Wednesday 19 February 2020 to apply for an increase by R15 000 in my revolving credit plan and was surprised and disappointed to be told that my application was rejected.

I asked the consultant who was helping me why was my application declined but she told me that she could only tell me what was written on the system and nothing else. After that she said they could only offer me a loan or overdraft. After I told her that I was not interested on those products she together with her Fnb system further insulted me that I qualified to be upgraded to private client and to apply for a bond as I am currently on premier and yet I didn't qualify for a small loan. I wonder if this is the way they answer to their 'How can we help you'. It is obvious that at FNB their credit status means nothing as my Fnb account is more than 20 years with green ticks on time with fnb and proven credit track record.

I would like to Express my gratitude to Anil Moken ( Manager) from Fnb Mobeni in Durban following my complaint. He kept me informed about every step that was taken from internal investigation until the issue was resolved.

On the 22 February 2020 I went to the branch to finalize my application and was attended by Thobeka Khawula who was also very helpful. Where she was not sure she would try to consult and call around to ensure that my issue was resolved. So Fnb has responded positively to their slogan of 'How can we help you' and indeed they managed to help me. Well done to Anil Moken and Thobeka Khawula from Fnb Mobeni for their exceptional customer service.
