Deceased estate: extremely disappointed by lack of decency and disregard by FNB
My father died on 12 January this year. He was an FNB customer. I downloaded a form from the FNB website and completed it, then submitted it using the FNB website link (https://www.fnb.co.za/fiduciary/report-a-death/?srsltid=AfmBOoqLTEhyYXT5vwDjQ6jGt4XWUUyi4e-9NVPCYw6Qlxy2ErMlFc7C).
I received a reply from a *** on 4 February telling me to use the app. I explained I was not an FNB customer and could not use my father's app. Moreover, I had followed the instructions on the FNB website so I expect FNB to act in accordance with their own instructions. I received no reply. I followed up on 7 April, and again did not receive the courtesy of a reply. In both cases I copied ***. This did not help.
My father's account is still active and some debit orders are still being processed. The executor of the estate is similarly not getting satisfaction from FNB in transferring the accounts in the estate bank account.
I cannot stress enough how disgusted I am with FNB's approach to this matter. Kindly contact me and the executor to resolve this urgently.
