Debit Order Switching option not given

<p>I switched online from ABSA to FNB & gave the relevant documents to the courier to FICA my account when my card was delivered.<br /><br /></p> <p>I used the card once or twice before my salary was paid into the new account & when my salary was paid in, I was told that the card was blocked & that I never went to a branch to FICA the account.<br /><br /></p> <p>The option to switch salary & debit orders was never given to me and I had to manually switch each debit order. As a result 22 debit orders failed & ABSA charged me R3770 in admin fees. This also affected my credit score in a negative way & I can't even apply for a credit card or overdraft at FNB.<br /><br /></p> <p>According to ABSA, FNB is liable for a full refund of the admin fees. I went to FNB Cresta to discuss the matter with the branch manager. Because the account was opened online, Mrs Smith from Cresta couldn't really assist me but did offer to get in contact with someone at FNB Head Office.<br /><br /></p> <p>I'd like to get feedback on this matter as soon as possible as I'm now regretting the fact that I switched banks.</p> <p> </p>
