Debit Card Swipe with no need for a pin code

I made a purchase at Ackermans with my FNB cheque debit card. To my surprise the purchase went through with out me entering in my pin code. This is the second store this has happened.I queried this with my FNB branch and they were aware of this and said the sales attendants are using the cards incorrectly. This is unacceptable, I want to know how is it even possible? The pin code is a security measure and if FNB is aware of this why have we as FNB customers not been made aware of this. All my accounts linked to that cheque account are now compromised and vulnerable! Everybody who has a cheque account with FNB need to be made aware of this as it is an extremely serious matter which has not been adressed by FNB. I personally will be forced to change my bank if this is not resolved as a matter of urgency! I will be making as many FNB cheque card holders aware of this aswell.
