Dead to FNB and held ransom for R2000

I have been unemployed since the start of the pandemic, although no funds were coming into my account, I had moved my investment funding into my account to sustain me till I could find employment again. The inevitable happened and the funds were depleted......sad story short, we fast forward to this month. It's my first month on a new job and life is about to get back to being good.....NOT!! the nightmare began when I starting when applications started being turned down and I only found out that my account was registered as non-existent.

I contact FNB, my app has been working and its not showing the account as closed, and neither did I receive feedback. Fair enough the account was in arrears, it's R2000. After receiving a call from one of their agents, I'm advised to go to a branch and give my ID and proof of address and the issue will be resolved, so mid pandemic, I hop to it just to get there and be told that the account will not be reactivated until payment. Till then the account would remain closed and no transactions will happen on the account. I've been a client to FNB since my first job in 2002 and have also run my business off FNB. I'm dead to FNB and they didn't bother to confirm and holding my account ransom for R2000. That would be my settlement and I'm moving banks across the board. Lost Ubuntu here

Please forgive the bad English, I'm emotional.

Discovery called, they want my business. Good Bye useless bank....didn't even acknowledge their c@ckup or even bother to call or follow up. Your attention to detail and customer-centricity is gone and you disguise it in a fancy app and overpriced services.
