Deactivating a cheque account
I have an FNB cheque account, there is money in it, the monthly service fees are debited to the account. I tried to access the account via the Internet and was told that the account was inactive. WHY? I was also instructed to go into my local branch to sort it out. So I went into my local FNB branch at Walmer Park, Walmer, Port Elizabeth. I got a queue ticket No. S55 with a date and time stamp 2015-02-21 10:21. There are five Sales and Service booths, two are closed, CLOSED? It's Saturday morning and there is a queue. I am seventh in the queue. I get approached by one of those vague FNB employees who drift about asking if they can help you, I explain my problem only to be told that I must see one of the consultants. After 15 minutes of waiting, I note that the three people that are being serviced by the three consultants on duty don't seem to be any closer to concluding their business and there are six people ahead of me I could be there for another 45 minutes, so I leave. What is it with you banks? Without your clients you wouldn't have a business, and yet your whole focus seems to be to hassle and irritate your clients as much as possible.
