De-activation of accounts

Hi,

I received an email stating to submit ID and proof of res for FICA. I didnt respond coz it looked like a phishing attempt. The contact details on the email are available nowhere on the FNB site ie. [Email Removed] and *** which further led me to believe this must be a ****.

I received a final warning email on Friday (12/02) so decided to phone the number. The guy didnt convince me, i told him il go to a branch on Monday to hand in my documents.
Saturday (13/02), forwarded the mail to ***** department. Their response, \FNB will NEVER prompt you to disclose your personal details. Should you receive an email...requesting you to divulge your details...please be aware this is not and official FNB communication....\"
Monday (15/02), request my premier banker to contact me, still no word. I go to a branch with docs, the teller tells me i need the green bar coded ID instead of a copy. She said my accounts will not be frozen in the interim. Go the next day, everything sorted, account gets deactivated.

I have platinum credit and cheque accounts, car loan, smart device and im an employee of FirstRand. How can you not KYC by now? Why deactivate without a single call?"
