Day light ******* by FNB

I have had a.banking account with FNB for many years until 2009. I had a loan, revolving credit and credit card with FNB. I was unemployed in 2019. I ended niphethene being in arrears with all 3 however i managed to settle all 2 and owed R2000 on the 3rd one. The total I paid to all was almost R95 000.00. I explained to them that I was not employed and didn't have the remaining R2 000.00 but will pay once I'm able to. Later in 2019 i got a job. I was contacted by FNB in 2020 and was told I owe about R5 000.00. They told me that my debt attracted interest. I requested them to close the account after I learnt that the account was still open thought the card was canceled by the bank. They refused citing that the account cannot be closed as long as it is still owing. I've been pleading with FNB to remove interest, closed the account and bill me with what I owe the bank jot the interest that is deliberately accumulated by them. I'm told now I owe R17 000.00 from interest.

Will you please intervene and request FNB to rekove interest so that I can pay what I owe them. I have paid this bank so much already and I'm fine with that because that is what I was owing them. I refuse to pay an amount which is inflated by the interests accumulated by them since they refused to close the account. I.would love to resolve the matter.amicably with them as I am still in interested in going back to banking with them.
