Customers are numbers on a computer from which bankers think they can maximize their profits by skimming off as much as they can by using contrived deception
I have been a customer of F N B and it's predecessor since 1973. I am now retired. A few months ago I transferred a fairly large some of money into an existing 32 day notice account to serve as an emergency fund. F N B do not send statements on the interest rates paid on the 32 day notice account. (so much easier to keep the customer in the dark and practice contrived deception). I checked on the interest at a later date and found that it was lower than expected. On the banking app chat line I asked what my interest rate was on the said 32 day notice account. I was informed that it was 7,1%. A month or so later I still could understand how the interest paid was less than expected. I called the contact number and was then informed that my account was on an old account and that the rate paid was only some 4,8%. Needless to say that I will be removing my account from F N B after 44 years of loyal contribution to the coffers of this banking institution. It is a pity that more people have not read "***** Poker"and "The Big Short" so that there is a wider understanding of what these gangsters get up to.
