Credit Rating

I've been trying to apply for a FNB smart device for a couple of months now and i tried applying for a temporary loan and i was told i do not qualify for either. I have no outstanding accounts with anyone. My credit score is good. The problem is that FNB doesn't tell you why your application is declined. I would like to know how they rate the credit score and why do they check your credit score but then use their own rating.
