CREDIT LIMIT REDUCED BY 70% WITHOUT WARNING

My credit limit was recently reduced by 70% without any notification/warning, this was subsequently done just after two bulk payments were made to my credit card account which in turn settled my credit card (ZERO owing on my credit card) , but prior to these two bulk payments my account was 100% up to date in terms of paying the monthly payments due. In fact each monthly payment made on my behalf was in excess of the monthly payments due. Same goes for my home loan account. Been a perfect and loyal customer to FNB, don't understand what's going on. Read through my contract and it states that a credit limit my be reduced but the customer will be informed five days before doing so, although a credit limit can instantaneously be reduced without prior notice due to certain circumstances. Please could FNB state/explain those certain circumstances (especially in my case) as no FNB representative has been able to do so. I have to find out and be told by a FNB representative that my credit limit was reduced by 70% and I just need to accept it.

Thanks.
