Credit ***** IGNORED

On the 29th October 2023, I received an in contact notification from my fnb app regarding a *****ulent withdrawal of R1200 from a store in Umhlanga, namely Pick n Pay at Lighthouse Mall (mind you, I've never been to this address before)

Within minutes, I reported this transaction and canceled my credit card - bearing in mind that this was a new credit card delivered to me merely a week prior

After waiting for feedback for 2 months and emailing for a follow up regarding the situation, all I received was an attempted phone call regarding as to whether it was me who made the withdrawal, which I found to be absurd

Thereafter, I as the client had to enquire and send through further emails regarding a resolution and refund of the unauthorized transaction - however, disappointingly I was told that I had to contact the merchant first and get proof of this *****ulent activity before sending it through to Fnb

After my response to this demanding a resolution from the banks side due to their error, I've been ignored ever since, therefore I have had no choice but to post this on Hello Peter

FNB - quit the false advertising of supposed "Secure" payment methods and online safety etc, as the bank is fast to allow *****ulent activity to take place but cares a damn to resolve and assist clients who have been banking with them for over 10 years!!!

Good day

I find the "assistance" received purely unhelpful as I am now being indirectly deemed as a ***** - my question, for the 10th time now is why would I report my own transaction as *****ulent, if I was aware and actually the person making the transaction at the time?? My card was in my possession, AT MY RESIDENCE (which isn't umhlanga, if anyone bothered to check their records) therefore I am now infuriated at the letter received from fnb insinuating that the card was with me and that I made the payment.

FNB is ************* and ***********. The mere fact of me having to use Hello Peter, a public platform to address a serious issue with fnb just to get a response and not be IGNORED FOR THE 3RD TIME, SPEAKS VOLUMES!

This matter will be dealt with legally going forward

Also I will address my responses via a public platform due to fnbs incompetence - please also advise as per the letter sent through - how would any further transactions take place on a card which was canceled minutes after me reporting the ***** case???????

Common sense clearly isn't very common.

10 days into the new year and I'm still awaiting feedback and yet again, have had to now personally follow up even with the "specialist" departments within the bank. FNB please advise as clients only seem to gain some headway when addressing urgent financial matters on a public platform
