Credit card statement sent to incorrect email

I have an FNB Credit card for around 3 years now and my statement has always been coming to my email address. This month it went to a different email address! Fortunately its my wife's email address but my point remains . . . it could have went to anyone's email address and the statement is not even encrypted so the recipient would have sight of my personal financial information.

I did not change the email address at any point in time, whether by phone, mobile app, or online banking, so I have no idea how FNB got my wife's email address and why they changed it.

The lady at the call centre could not find any audit trail either but she kindly changed it back to my email address.

I did raise it before with FNB that they are not encrypting the statements and they risk exposing their client's personal financial information to an outsider. I suggested they sue something like Striata which is what Standard Bank uses. Their reply was that they considered it but did not see any risk.

And OH . . . FNB is no longer very cheap . . . I find that with the new way we have to manage our accounts to keep a reward level 5, there are new bank charges creeping into my account.
