CREDIT CARD PAYMENT AND CHEQUE ACCOUNT DEBIT ORDERS

On the 25 November 2017, an amount of R1476.44 was deducted from my cheque account as payment for my credit card. According to my credit card records, the amount reflected on the credit card statement on 27 November. But on the 29 November it was apparently reversed, and the statement shows a 'REJECT 50' reference. A week ago, I was called by a bank consultant, saying that they have not received payment for my credit card as the payment has been reversed. I asked her that if the money was reversed why is it not in my cheque account since the deduction was made from there. She could not explain where the money went to. She promised to investigated. Then, today (12 December) another consultant called me. Strangely, she insisted that the money was not deducted from my cheque account since it could not be reversed into my cheque account, and was paid to an unknown account. Mind you, since I had my credit card, payments were always made from my cheque account. Now the bank wants to make their problem of their poor security systems to become my problem. They want to punish me for their inefficiency because I will be charged more interest for something which is not my fault. I wonder how could I have had access to reverse funds, then pay those funds into an unknown bank account. Normally, when funds are reversed they get paid into the account which were deducted from. Now why this payment has not been reversed back into my cheque account? The bank consult told me to go to a branch so that they can check the account but I refused to do because this can be investigated without me having to go to a branch. The bank should deal with whoever (be it employees) has access to abuse their system. For the past months I have been having queries regarding several decline authorisation fees in my credit card account, and the bank was not helpful in addressing the problem save to say the solution was to cancel the credit card. There were also unauthorised debit orders in my cheque account (those ********** R99.99 which the bank is aware of) and the bank seemed not to care. When I asked a consultant to block any debit order less than R100 in my cheque account, I was simply told this was not possible. Instead I am always charged to reverse and stop those debit orders. FNB should change its slogan to 'how can we rip you off' because the bank is far from being helpful to its clients.
