Credit card longer than 48hrs

I had made an application in the credit card division last week Tuesday and to date it has not been processed whereas I was told it would take 48hrs! ***. Then I called in last week Thursday, they said it would be escalated, called again yesterday 19th April , still nothing to date not escalated.
