Credit Card Limit Increase Nightmare

I have been with FNB since I was a student and have had few problems with their service. However recently I app**** to have my credit card limit increased using online banking. When I was offered the card the limit was set high and I chose to have a limit less than half of that. I still only wanted to increase the limit to below that initially offered to me in 2016. However when I started the application I noticed the information of my earnings and spendings was incorrect (Salary underestimated by 25%). I changed these to reflect my actual. I was then denied my application and a message saying that I had provided information contrary to theirs came up. I then got a phone call from FNB the next day, at which point the consultant told me that I could not apply for another increase for another 3 MONTHS since I had been rejected and that these failed applications would influence my credit score. I am a young person with very little debt outside my car payments, I dont need a poor credit rating based on failures of FNB. How is it my fault if FNB has grossly innaccurately captured my details even though they are the same bank I recieve my salary into? And how can my credit rating be affected negatively through me trying to correct information and by me earning MORE? I will never use FNB online banking for applications for accounts again. When I app**** for this credit card they were all too happy to accomodate me, but now that I am a paying customer, am I not as worthy?
