Credit Card *****- Innocent Party Paying the Price

***** was committed on my credit card. The ******** stole my cellphone number and credit card information. He purchased R12 998 online with Makro. Seconds after, I reported it to FNB and froze my account. They assured me that it is no issue and I will have the funds returned as they were pending. I phoned Makro and reported the ********** purchase as well as sorting out getting my cellphone number back on a new sim card. I opened a police case and follow FNB's every instruction. I received no word for 12 days and so I phoned to check the status of my case. I have now been told that it was decided ages ago ( 7 Feb) that I am liable due to the transaction being authorised by OTP, even though I reported my number was ****** and provided the Vodacom documents to prove it. What is disgusting is that no one notified me and I had to phone in twice to find out what is happening. I have sent an email to ********** yesterday with no response. I have been holding with their dispute number for 40 mins now with no answer. Why must I be liable when I reported everything seconds after it occurred and got my account frozen while it was still pending as well as having my cellphone number ******? Please explain to me how that works as a long-term loyal FNB customer who has never missed a single payment, taken out and paid two loans successfully. In what way is any of this right? I first get told that I did everything correctly and it will be reversed. Now no one gets back to me and I must find out 6 days after the decision was made that I am liable because my information was ****** and used but I reported it immediately. Please can someone get back to me. I will not accept this outcome.
