Credit Card ***** - FNB

I was victim of a phishing ****. I received an SMS saying my package was on hold due to an incorrect address. I was expecting multiple deliveries from the post office that day and the company that I bought from actually sent me a notification saying my delivery was awaiting pickup at the post office. There were over 40 transactions from the same account, and I never got any notifications that money was being removed until all was gone. Not once up until today did I get a single SMS indicating funds were being taken out. It’s pathetic from FNB. I only received the inContact messages at 9.15pm on the day it happened 1 hour after the transactions began. It was too late by then. If I had received messages from the first transaction, I would have been able to stop my card much earlier. I also couldn’t log on to the app when I received the messages. It blocked me out. I had to call in to stop my card. I then later had to reset my banking app password to access the app. It was only then when I realized the amount of money and transactions that occurred on my account. I asked the agent to check the amount that was taken out over the phone, and he indicated a quarter of the amount that was actually taken. Even FNB couldn’t see what was happening on my account. How can we trust that our funds are safe with this sort of service? I had to alert the bank about the ***** instead of the bank picking up these 40 plus transactions and abnormal activity. FNB should have picked up within those 40 plus transactions to the ********** account, especially since the amounts being removed were the same amount over and over again. FNB should have stopped these transactions, at least assuming they were duplicates. When I did call the agent, he actually was rude to me saying: “you know you are not supposed to click on links.” Is this the type of service FNB gives all their clients??? The agent even knew about the Post Office **** as he indicated this was happening to other clients. FNB should have been on high alert since they knew this was happening and also have alerted their clients about this ****. I’ve also never before spent that much on my credit card and still that was never flagged on the FNB side. What protection does FNB offer their clients? The only reason I have a high credit card limit is because FNB requires a good credit rating to earn more eBucks but provides very little protection for the credit card facility as I discovered. A day into the investigation all the ********** transactions are removed from my account I thought I could breathe a sigh of relief and I felt that I could move on. But a few days later without notifying me FNB puts all the ********** charges back on my account. This completely messed with our lives as we thought that the ***** had been rectified. At no time did they give me feedback on the status of the case. I have been a private banker with FNB for many years and even have a home loan and investments with the bank. Surely this is not the service FNB affords their customers.
