Credit Card Closure Status

Hi all, just some advice on my experience, i have had numerous credit products with fnb previously, my only issue is that i have closed my fnb credit that had a very high credit limit on the 29 of Jan 2020, its now the 16 of May 2020 and this credit card still reflects as active/open on my credit bureau, this is really affecting my new credit application as it shows as I'm over indebt, guys please be aware of this when closing a credit card, don't think you can just apply for new credit anywhere as you might not qualify due to this reason, and if you keep trying, you will end up decreasing your credit score, fnb complaints team please assist in resolving this issue...
